About Alana Hayes

Diabetes-focused care, grounded in two decades of nursing experience.

Alana is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner working with adults living with diabetes. She combines specialist diabetes expertise with the breadth of a 20-year nursing career — offering assessment, treatment planning, prescribing and ongoing support, all in one place.

Experience
Over 20 years across intensive care, community health, primary care and specialist diabetes services — bringing depth and breadth to every consultation.
Current role
Alana currently works at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Diabetes Centre, supporting adults with complex care needs including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, insulin therapy, diabetes technology and advanced insulin pump systems.
In private practice
As an endorsed Nurse Practitioner (Master of Nursing, University of Sydney), Alana provides comprehensive diabetes assessment, treatment planning, prescribing, pathology requests and Medicare-supported consultations — everything you need from one practitioner, with one care plan.

The approach

Practical, personalised diabetes care

Alana takes the time to understand your goals, your daily routine and what matters most to you — then works with you to build a clear, realistic plan you can actually live with. Her aim is to help adults living with diabetes feel informed, confident and supported in managing their health.

Personalised

Care built around your goals, lifestyle and what is realistic for you — not a generic protocol.

Practical

Clinical detail translated into language and steps that are clear, useful and easy to act on.

Supportive

Every consultation ends with clear next steps — what to do, what to watch for, when we will check in.
